3D SOLAR PANELS

Internship at Solliance building three-dimensional solar panels for unique applications.

ABOUT

I worked for Solliance, a solar panel research company, for five months on an independent research project. The project was explorative, researching methods on how solar panels can be manipulated into three-dimensional geometry. To complete this research I studied solar panels and the material properties they are made of, and the mathematics behind origami and kirigami. The results of this project were a range of functional prototypes showcasing different geometries that could be achieved. In parallel, I also worked on other projects for the company such as testing and documenting how to use a die cutter on the solar panel material.
